Shaped like a shallow bowl with a loop on the back for mounting, this wall basket takes four days to complete and embodies the unique personal story of its maker.

Rural women (and former reguees) in Tanzania combine traditional weaving techniques with modern design. White threads from 'gunia' grain sacks are upcycled and intricately woven into ugwafu grasses to create these pieces.

The coloured threads add a pop of colour, reinforcing the natural beauty of local materials.

The name of this particular design stems from the word 'Ikibano' which represents the refugee population as a community, with a shared background and determination of working together to overcome the struggles in the camp.
